Week 09

Decided to stay 3 nights moored up safely in Port Sami due to rough seas and some more than uncomfortable north westerlies. Although having to relocate due to my first position between 2 large motor yachts in the harbour I could again moor alongside. Saw a couple of boats having issues with their anchors due to crossed chains etc so I was pleased I didn’t need to med moor😁. From Port Sami I sailed to an anchorage in a place called Poros (not to be confused with the island), great bay with clear turquoise water, however the swell day and night very unpleasant. Holding in sand was good, able to swim, got accross to the beach restaurants and amenities which were all OK so all in all worth the stay. From there found a beautiful beach in front of Trapezaki with one Restaurant, very peaceful and some good food (Restaurant Denis).
Last stop this week was at Argostoli Town Harbour sitting out heavy northerlies on the town dock. Nice shopping area and reasonable prices for provisions, a lot of Cruise ships coming in and out so a lot of tourists, however suprisingly fairly peaceful. Saw a few large Turtles swimming in the bay which itself had depths as low as 2m so careful manoeuvring called for especially with the strong prevailing northerlies pushing me against the dock Fortunately all calmed during the night and the second day continued with light breezes, favourably from the north.
