Week 06

Week 06 commenced with a sail to Marina Porto Montenegro for an appointment to replace the Saildrive oil which according to the warranty conditions needs to be done following the first 50 hours of use. Porto Montenegro in Tivat is a very up market Marina with some very large Motor Yachts and a variety of very expensive stores. However I found the restaurants resonable and treated myself in the evening to some local Spaghetti. The Black Pearl a sailing Yacht launched in 2016 with ca. 106meters was moored just behind me, an impressive ship and supposedly designed to sail without fossil fuels.
Leaving Porto Montenegro, Tivat the following mid morning I sailed day and night to avoid Albania, which I had decided to leave out of my Itinery, arriving and mooring up in Marina Bar in the early morning hours. The night sail was awful with so little wind at times, I was under 1kt boat speed at times, however I made it without engine but I I will rethink that next time. Left Marina Bar and sailed in very strong gusts to Alvakia, a small fishing harbour where I also holed up last year. Arrived and came alongside with 25kts + winds on the beam pushing the boat against the pier, luckily well fendered up. The morning brought much finer weather and lighter winds which carried me to Marina Gouvia, Corfu. Noted I had pickep up a lot of fishing line and a lure in the propeller which I could not completely remove. Had to check in to Greece through Customs and Port police, coast Guard in Gouvia very pleasant and things wrapped up quickly in contrary to the Customs/Police in Corfu Harbour where I waited 3 hours for a stamp and signature. Found Butane Gas which had run out a week ago and provisioned up with food and water.
