Week 05

Flew back from MUC to DBV arriving to realise one of the large round fenders on the stern had “gone missing”. Reported to the Marina who showed little interest –> 70€ gone 🙂 I put it down as a bad experience in a Marina I really got attached to.
Week 05 was short, leaving Marina Frapa, Dubrovnik to Cavtat where I had a horrible time trying to dock in high wind and waves, tried to drop the anchor which also failed and ended up tied to a Buoy, unfortunately its line broke as soon as I gently thrusted back to check tension. Managed to locate and tie up to a second buoy which proved to be more solid. Checked out at the Q dock in Cavtat the following morning managing to bend a gate to the dock with my anchor as I came alongside, I misjudged the waves pushing the boat in against the dock as I turned in and the anchor caught the gate bending it out of its hinges. After docking it was a process of registering my departure from the EU with the Harbour Master and then Customs, all done within 40 minutes including walks to the 2 offices.

Continued from Cavtat same day to Zelenika, Montenegro where I completed customs, a trip again to the local Harbour Master, then customs. Docking on the Q Dock ended up much better than in Cavtat, the customs entry process on the whole was straight forward. I then spent 3 days on a buoy in Zelenika under extremly gusty conditions especially during the evening and night. Lost a paddle when the Dinghy flipped otherwise no damages. Decided to take the Bimini down and ensure the deck was clean of equipment and latched all down.
