Week 07

Following a couple of nights in Gouvia reprovisioning and renewing my Gas I set off on Week 07 to Nikolaos or N. Sivota as it is perhaps better known where I dropped anchor, very uneventful. The following day took me to Two Rock Bay where I also anchored not realising at the moment how close to the shallows I had dropped. Within 10 mins I felt some light bumping and realised I had bottomed on the sand at 1.60m depth. Moved gently away a good 50 meters to deeper water around 6m. The night ended up as awful with an incoming swell to the bay, little sleep thus I woke and decided to set off at 06:00 for Marina Preveza to top up again on water and supplies. Really like the Marina Preveza and will in enquire the cost and availabilty for an annual berth next year (2027). Very clean, well maintained and good service.

From Preveza I took the short journey per Motor to the Lefkas Canal, anchored in 9m and waited with 30+ other boats for the bridge to withdraw, it was absolute chaos and some other sailors got extremely close to me and other boats waiting, not heeding or not concious of the strong side winds and the traffic coming out of the Canal. Motoring through the first section of the Canal from north to south was hairy, there were works going on, strong winds on the beam and a lot of traffic in both directions and of course some barmy people with little patience. However, all ended well and I finally moored up in a lovely bay named Spartochori, wished to stay 2 nights but the moorings were fully booked (Weekend). Moved on to Sivota Lefkas where in exchange for dining at the restaurant “Stavros” I was given a mooring with a Lazy line, Electricy and Water –> decided to stay 2 nights :-), lovely place to stay – see Week 08
