Week 02 began with the Departure and passage from Duga Hvar to Vela Luka. Coming into Vela Luka I oversaw the chart depth of 1,6m however my Tranducer displayed 4m showing finally a depth of 2,5m where I picked up a Buoy. Alarm is set at 2m but this didn’t signal. Spent 2 days in Vela Luka finally waiting for high tide (+0,2m ;-)) just in case then backing out to be safe and into 15kts of head wind. From Vela Luka I passaged to Sveti Ivan and from there to Zaklopatica, Polace Luka and Mljet Sudurad where I spent 2 nights despite the awful swell. Motored from Mljet Sudurad to Marina Frapa in Dubrovnik due to the short distance where I refuelled Diesel and Water, decided to stay 2 nights due to strong prevailing winds. The journey from Marina Frapa Dubrovnik to Molunat was easy and short, stayed the night then set off earlier in the direction of Corfu. First day and night no events, nice northerly pushing me along nicely. However despite forecaste 15Kts with gusts up to 20Kts I got stuck in a storm with a persistant 30 Kts Northerly gusting to 35Kts and the waves just got larger and larger, I could not see over the crests which became concerning at times. The hardest and most tiring was surfing the boat down the waves. The dinghy flipped over during the storm and acted like a drag anchor which helped to slow the boat down but at the end of it I heaved to, I could hardly control the boat. Sat it out until early morning by which time the Dinghy has lost one paddle, the other was broken and worst of all the Furlex was damaged, top and bottom.
Then managed, however to limp accross from my postion between Porto Di Miggiano,Italy and Vore, Albania where I had heaved to, to a lovely small harbour called Avlakia where to keep it short I got some really effective help from the Habour Master and some Italiens moored up next to me to furl the Genua which was stuck unfurled.
